Ashley announces it's day 365, describes starting the morning with Zumba and low impact cardio, and explains she skipped her usual stretch class because she was handling press release emails for the milestone.
Day 365 complete, and I didn't die. What's up,
my movers and shakers? Famous Ashley Grant here.
Welcome to More Movement Please, the podcast
where I hope to inspire you to move your body
more. Today is day 365. It's the day I've been
talking about for several weeks now, and I am
sweaty as can be, and I'm a hot mess. But I am
on my way home from my evening classes and I
just kind of wanted to record a debrief and tell
y 'all what happened today. So this morning I
started the way that I start most Monday mornings
with Zumba and low impact cardio and toning.
And normally I've been doing a stretch class
first thing in the morning as well. But I was
dealing with a lot of things that were going
on. Basically, I sent out a press release about
this day 365 and episode 100 coming out. And
so I was, you know, taking care of all that.
What they don't tell you about when you try to
be your own publicist is just how many emails
and things you have to go through and take care
of. And Lord have mercy, there was a lot. But
I'm so grateful for all the people that supported
me talking about This Day 365 and that published
the press release. And I've got more people that
have said that they're going to publish the press
release. And I'm just so thankful for everybody
who is supporting me on this journey because
this journey is so important. And it's not important
because of me. It's important because of what
it's doing. It's inspiring people to move their
bodies. And that means the world to me. Like
that is the most. important thing that I could
be doing right now. And that's inspiring people

to move. And I'm absolutely loving it. And I'm
just so grateful that I started this podcast
back in October of 2025 because no one told me
what to expect if I became a fitness podcaster.
And I honestly never set out to be a fitness
podcaster. I've talked about that before. But
yeah, I love the fact that we live in a time
where You don't have to be a guru or an expert.
You can be a contributor to the space. And I've
said before, the person that first turned me
on to that idea was Denise Duffield Thomas. She's
my money mentor. I absolutely love this woman.
She is one of the most fabulous people of ever.
If you want to get your money blocks sorted out,
you've got to check out her books. I'll leave
them in the show notes. She has some really awesome
books that basically help you sort through your
money crap. Yeah. I just, what a mind blowing
thing for someone to say that you don't have
to be an expert. You can be a contributor. And
I'm so grateful that I get to be a contributor
to the fitness space now. And that I actually
have a story of trying to get fit in my feral
forties. Like who knew that I was going to be
a fitness podcaster, you know, basically recording
my diary, if you will, of what it's like to actually
try to get fit in your forties after two decades
of inactivity. I mean, I've told you, I've told
you guys before that I, You know, I did have
spurts of activity, but I don't feel like it
really counts because I wasn't consistent with
it. I mean, I had a lot of false starts. And
this is the first time since I was, goodness,
since I got married that I committed to actually
moving my body every single day. And I'm so,
so damn grateful that I committed to it and that
I stuck with it and that I didn't stop because.
And that's one of the things that is so frustrating
is how easy it is to stop. But when you stop,
you pay for it. And I didn't want to pay for
it again. I didn't want to continue having health
issues. I didn't want to continue down the path
that I was on of inactivity. And, you know, I
was headed right for the path of more blood pressure
medication. I was headed for the path of cholesterol
medication. I was headed for the path of. More
pain in my knees and more pain in my back and
heart trouble and all the things. And that's
why this year has meant so much to me. I mean,
there's been some amazing things that have happened
in this year. But the most amazing thing that
has happened is how I feel like I finally took
control back of my health. And I want that for
Ashley explains what she was heading toward before this year — more blood pressure medication, cholesterol medication, knee and back pain — and describes finally feeling like she took control of her health back.
everybody. I want everyone to have the opportunity
to move their bodies more and feel just how damn
good it can feel to. improve your strength and
improve your stamina and improve your balance.
I mean, holy cow, that's like that's one of the
biggest things that I didn't even see coming
is that some of the things that I've been doing
this year have been helping my balance. I mean,
that's why I've been taking so many stretch classes,
because it's basically like it's a standing yoga
thing that I've been doing. It's. Oh, man, there's
such great classes that I've been finding online.
And I mean, I call them stretch classes, but
they're you know, they they really are a workout.
They definitely get your blood pumping and get
your heart rate up, even though, you know, you
wouldn't expect it to because it's a stretch
class. But they're just so, so amazing. And I'm
so incredibly grateful that we live in a time
where, you know, fitness people are putting amazing
exercises online. They're removing the barrier
to entry to. to work out. And I'm just, I'm so
happy that I've moved my body as much as I have.
And I'm so happy that I intend to move it even
more. So anyway, I said I was going to debrief
Ashley walks through the day: Zumba in the morning, lunch with gym friends at a pizza place in Richmond Kentucky, a meeting that ran long and cut planned classes, then Tabata and spin in the evening — including spin despite a previously bruised tailbone.
and then I got tangented. That's something I'm
known to do. But so yeah, the day began with
Zumba and low impact cardio and toning. And then
I went to lunch with my gym girlies and I didn't
get to go with everybody. I would have loved
to have had more of y 'all there. I know that,
you know, with work and things like that, not
everybody can come. But I like to think y 'all
were there in spirit. And we had a good time.
We went to a parlor pizza here in Richmond, Kentucky
and had some really yummy food. And then I went
home and I had a meeting that I had to take.
Yeah, unfortunately, that meeting went a little
bit longer than I intended. And so I wasn't able
to do the classes that I had planned between
classes. And it's probably for the best because
I am still having those health issues that I
have mentioned a few times on this podcast. I'm
I'm working through them, but. It's for the best
that I did not do those additional three classes
that I had planned. But I did do the other two
classes that I had planned, which were the most
important ones to me. This evening, I did Tabata
and I did spin. And I have not done spin in a
hot minute. Goodness, I had bruised my tailbone
pretty badly a long time ago. And so I've been
weary of spin ever since. I'm kind of afraid
to take it. But I did it and it was awesome.
And it hurt. And yeah, a lot of pain today, but
it was all worth it. And I'm so, so grateful
for the day and the people that were around me
today and supporting me. working out with me.
And I'm thankful for you for listening to this.
Like just the fact that you're listening to this,
you are helping me spread the message of movement.
