Welcome to the Bloggy Friends show.
00:19
What's up my bloggy friends?
00:20
Famous Ashley Grant here and welcome back to part two of Affiliate Marketing Profits,
00:25
our deep dive into affiliate marketing.
00:27
If you missed the first episode, you can check that out in the show notes.
00:30
I will leave a link down in the show notes.
00:34
The first steps that we shared in that are select your niche, understand your audience,
00:40
establish your affiliate blog, explore diverse affiliate programs, and embrace the power
00:45
of social media marketing.
00:46
Now let's get into the last four steps that you need to be using so you can actually have
00:51
affiliate marketing success.
00:53
For the record, I just want to share that one of the things that happened with me when
00:57
I first started my affiliate marketing journey is I found a really cool program.
01:01
It was going for, I want to say about $1,500 and the commission was 40%.
01:07
They had an amazing lead-in program that they started where you could nurture your list
01:12
and all that good stuff.
01:14
They wrote all these amazing swipe copy emails that you could send out to people that were
01:17
asking you about whatever it is you were talking about.
01:22
In this case, it was a weight loss program.
01:24
I started sharing the different swipe copy and believe it or not, even though I didn't
01:31
have an established audience yet, no one really knew who I was, no one really knew what kind
01:38
of website I had, I actually did have someone click on one of my links and they bought the
01:42
program and it was a 40% commission and it was just an easy way to start making money
01:47
online and that's why I'm so obsessed with affiliate marketing.
01:50
I still actually make money today on some of the links that I have been pushing out
01:54
throughout the years.
01:56
Just recently I had someone click on a link for a syrup and then they bought an Xbox.
02:02
It was an easy $11 or $12.
02:04
I can't even remember what it was, but that's why I like affiliate marketing so much is
02:08
it's a passive income way to keep making money off of your content and keep promoting the
02:13
fact that you are a content creator.
02:15
It helps you sustain, I guess, your creativity.
02:19
Let's get into the last four steps.
02:21
Step six, select your promotional products wisely.
02:24
Are you all about the tangible goodies that your customers can hold in their hands?
02:28
If so, then you should be thinking about physical products that land right at their doorstep
02:32
and make them jump with joy.
02:34
Or if you're more of a digital wizard who's thinking about digital products, you want
02:37
to promote things like e-books and courses and other mind-blowing informational gems.
02:43
These digital wonders will set your audience's hearts on fire.
02:47
But here's the secret sauce.
02:48
The products that you promote depend on your chosen topic.
02:52
For example, if you're running a toy blog, it's all about the tangible stuff because
02:56
kids and adults, let's be honest, they love the physical toys.
03:00
They want to be able to hold these toys in their hands and learn all about them and play
03:04
with them.
03:05
On the other hand, if you're doing a spirituality blog, you might be talking all about digital
03:11
delights like enlightening e-books and soul-nourishing courses, that kind of thing.
03:17
But here's the cool thing.
03:19
Some topics, they actually mix and match the best of both worlds.
03:23
So like if you have a stress management blog, you have the perfect combination.
03:27
You can talk about an e-book that helps you chill out and you can talk about those Zen-worthy
03:33
products that you hold in your hand like a weighted blanket or an essential oil diffuser.
03:38
So you got to choose wisely because you need to tailor your product promotions to fit with
03:43
your topic and to fit with what your audience is going to be looking for.
03:49
And I said this before and I'm going to say it again.
03:52
My pro tip is only promote the products and services that you have used, like, and trust.
03:59
When it comes to choosing the products and services that you want to promote as an affiliate,
04:03
there's a golden rule that should always be followed.
04:06
Use, like, trust.
04:08
Trust me, if you're hoping for affiliate marketing success, this is really, really crucial because
04:13
you don't want to tell people to go and buy something if you wouldn't actually buy it
04:17
yourself.
04:18
The only exception to this, and I've said this before in a previous episode, is if you're
04:22
a review website and you're talking about a bunch of different things and some of them
04:26
are things that you're actually giving bad reviews to, of course you can still link to
04:31
those things.
04:32
And if anybody clicks it and they choose to buy it anyway, then you'll still get a commission.
04:37
But if you're not actually purchasing these products or trying these products and have
04:42
no idea what they do, it's kind of just bad form to be telling people to buy something
04:47
if you wouldn't buy it yourself.
04:49
So imagine for a moment you stumble upon an affiliate program for a random product that
04:53
you've never used.
04:54
You have no idea if it's any good, but hey, it offers a juicy commission.
04:59
And you might think to yourself, well, who's going to know?
05:02
But remember, you're not just selling a product.
05:04
You're building trust with your audience.
05:06
And nothing is going to kill your reputation faster than promoting products that you don't
05:11
actually believe in.
05:13
Or that you don't actually, that you wouldn't buy yourself is basically what I'm trying
05:16
to say.
05:17
So if you promote anything for a quick buck, you're risking losing that precious trust
05:22
that you have worked so hard to build.
05:24
And trust me, that old adage, it takes a lot of time to earn, but it can vanish like a
05:30
puff of smoke if you're not careful.
05:32
So choose wisely, only promote the products and services that align with your values,
05:37
resonate with your audience, and genuinely add value to their lives.
05:41
You got to be like a discerning food critic at a fancy restaurant.
05:45
You only want to pick the most delectable dishes to recommend.
05:49
And remember, it's not about short-term gains.
05:51
You want to build long-lasting relationships with your audience because it's like planting
05:55
seeds in a magical garden of money.
05:59
So step seven is to deliver value with exceptional content.
06:03
What does that mean?
06:04
It's the secret sauce, right?
06:06
It's talking about these products in a way that actually convinces people to buy.
06:12
So whenever you're delivering exceptional content and delivering exceptional value,
06:17
you're telling people how to use the product.
06:20
You're telling them what it has done for you.
06:22
So a great example of this is I work for a running website and they often talk about
06:27
this...
06:29
It's a roller that you can use after you've gone running that helps kind of work out the
06:33
kinks in your muscles.
06:35
And so they sell this roller...
06:37
They don't sell this roller.
06:38
They promote this roller on a website that sells this roller.
06:42
And every time someone clicks it and buys it, they get a kickback.
06:45
But they use this roller in their videos.
06:49
They use it in their blog.
06:50
They use it and tell people about how they use it.
06:53
And so they're giving exceptional value by telling people how it can help a person, how
06:58
it can help them work out those kinks and those muscles.
07:01
So that's what I mean by delivering value with exceptional content.
07:05
You're not just gonna put up a link to put up a link.
07:08
You wanna actually tell people what the point of the link is, what the thing that someone
07:13
is considering buying is.
07:15
One of the cool things I saw on a food blog is this lady was writing about how to do the
07:21
perfect keto kitchen, all the essentials you would need to build a kitchen that is keto
07:26
friendly.
07:27
And so everything that was on her website, excuse me, on this page was how to actually,
07:34
what kind of products you need to buy.
07:35
Like instead of sugar, the different sugar sweeteners, the alternative sweeteners, like
07:41
those kinds of things.
07:43
The different pots and pans she uses, the kitchen aid mixer she uses, everything that
07:49
someone would need to create a kitchen that's filled with all the materials and pantry supplies
07:56
to make a meal that is keto friendly.
07:59
So not only is it telling the user or the reader how they can make their kitchen more
08:05
keto friendly, that post was also filled to the brim with all kinds of affiliate links
08:10
that if anybody clicked any of those items and bought them, this content creator got
08:14
a kickback.
08:15
So that's what I mean whenever I say create exceptional content and deliver value.
08:20
Step eight is to harness the power of your affiliate links.
08:23
What in the world does that mean?
08:25
Basically, it's time to unleash the power of your affiliate links and turn those clicks
08:30
into cold hard cash.
08:32
You have your awesome blog, you've sprinkled it with high value content.
08:36
Now what?
08:38
Now this is where you need to start putting in all the affiliate links into the content
08:42
that you've created.
08:44
Think of it like sprinkling fairy dust on all of your blog posts.
08:47
You can start sprinkling in your magical affiliate links to the products you want to promote.
08:53
And don't forget the charm of an eye catching image that goes with it.
08:58
And here's the secret sauce.
08:59
When your readers click those links and make a purchase, cha-ching, you'll be earning the
09:04
series commissions that you are looking for like a boss.
09:08
So social media is a playground too.
09:10
I mentioned social media a little bit earlier.
09:12
Platforms like TikTok and Instagram, they have their very own magic trick.
09:16
You can use something like Linktree or create a social media page on your own website so
09:20
that if you're posting different things on these social media websites, you can bring
09:25
back people to your page and include your affiliate links all in one place.
09:30
So this gives your followers a way to easily access all the fabulous links that you're
09:34
talking about and you can start raking in the rewards all at the same time.
09:38
And guess what?
09:39
YouTube is part of the fun too.
09:41
Don't forget to add affiliate links to all of your YouTube video descriptions.
09:45
And I like to think of it as planting little money seeds that grow into a beautiful garden
09:49
of money.
09:52
All right, step nine.
09:53
We've talked about the website and how important it is.
09:56
In step nine, we're going to drive as much traffic as humanly possible to your website.
10:02
I did an episode recently, well, not recently, it's actually been a little bit now, but all
10:08
the different ways that you can drive traffic to your website.
10:10
I'll leave that in the show notes and I'll also leave other links to different ways that
10:15
you can drive traffic.
10:16
But here are a couple of ideas.
10:18
First one, I've said it a couple of times, is to use social media to drive people to
10:22
your website.
10:23
Second is to play with partnerships.
10:25
Join forces with other awesome content creators that are in your topic.
10:29
Things like guest podcasting, that's a great way to get people to come to your website.
10:33
If you go on other people's podcasts and you talk about your website, usually the host
10:38
is going to give you an opportunity to mention where people can find you online.
10:42
And another thing to do is guest posting.
10:44
It's still not dead.
10:45
You can still guest blog on other people's websites and they usually will give you a
10:50
link back to your own website in like your author description or something like that.
10:56
Another thing you can consider for driving traffic is giveaways.
11:00
Why not buy the very things that you were talking about, the very affiliate products
11:04
that you want to tell people about and give one away.
11:09
I saw a blogger recently do this and it was really successful for her.
11:13
She was not to keep bringing up KitchenAid, hey KitchenAid, do you want to sponsor me?
11:18
Basically she was giving away a KitchenAid and what she did was really cool.
11:21
Not only does she have a giveaway form that people could enter to win this KitchenAid,
11:26
she kept talking about if you don't want to wait and you want to buy your KitchenAid now,
11:30
here's a link to purchase.
11:31
And so anybody who purchased it through her link, she was able to get a commission on
11:35
those.
11:36
So it was a very successful campaign for her.
11:38
She sold a lot of KitchenAids and she gave one away.
11:41
Everybody won.
11:42
So let's also talk about SEO.
11:47
We kind of have to talk about SEO.
11:49
I'll leave a couple links to different things you can do for SEO sorcery.
11:53
But basically you want to summon the power of SEO like a wizard.
11:56
You want to sprinkle those keywords that people are looking for like magic dust all throughout
12:00
your content.
12:01
And again, I'm going to say it, don't keyword stuff your posts.
12:04
However, if you're not thinking about SEO and you're not actually using a strategy of
12:08
things that people are going to be searching for, no one's ever going to find your stuff.
12:12
It's not like a field of dreams.
12:13
Just because you build it doesn't mean they will come.
12:15
You need to use the words that they are looking for for them to find you.
12:20
And finally, the last tip I'll give for traffic tips is email.
12:24
I know I've talked about email a lot.
12:26
I'm using it ad nauseum, but don't forget about the enchantment of email marketing.
12:30
Sending captivating emails and exclusive offers to your subscribers.
12:33
This is like having a VIP party where your guests can't wait to RSVP.
12:37
It's giving you a direct connection to the people that you're talking to and giving them
12:41
a way that they can click your links directly and get you paid.
12:46
So we covered a lot in this episode as well.
12:49
And again, if you haven't heard the first part of this deep dive into affiliate marketing,
12:53
again, I'll leave that in the show notes below.
12:55
But so the big things we talked about in this episode is step six is to select your promotional
13:01
products wisely.
13:02
Step seven is to deliver value with exceptional content.
13:06
Step eight is harness the power of your affiliate links.
13:09
And finally, step nine is to drive traffic to your website.
13:12
You need to get as many eyeballs on those pages that you are creating content on as
13:16
humanly possible.
13:18
Because whenever you actually get people to your website, the thing that you own, that's
13:22
when you can finally start making some serious cash.
13:25
So join us in the next episode whenever we talk about a 30 day strategy of things that
13:30
you should be doing to actually build up your affiliate marketing success.
13:33
In the meantime, we'll probably be dripping out some episodes of quick hits and motivational
13:37
moments and all those good things.
13:39
And if there's anything I haven't been talking about that you really think I should hit me
13:42
up on x.com.
13:43
I'm at Ashley is famous or send me a comment at facebook.com backslash famous Ashley Grant.
13:48
I would love to hear from you and hear what you want to hear about.
13:51
Until next time, may your page views be high and your bounce right below.
