Real Love Shouldn't Make You Feel Less Than
▸ Show notes from the creator
If you're with someone who puts you down, makes you question yourself, or makes you feel less than, I need you to hear this. The right person won't ask you to shrink the parts of yourself that make you who you are. This episode wasn't planned, scripted, or even on my recording schedule...it was simply something on my heart that I needed to say (and for you to hear).

SpeakerWelcome back and welcome to this Securely You podcast. My name is CT, and I'll help you understand why you love the way you do. Today's episode is really simple. I'm recording this close to midnight on Tuesday, August 18th. I'll be publishing this right after I post it. Or right after I'm done recording, I will uh push this live. It's on my heart, and I don't know who needs to hear this today or tonight or this morning, wherever you may be tuning in from.
00:36
But I need you to know this. Hear this. Take this in. Reflect on this. Put this as the wallpaper on your phone. Or as a reminder, put it on a post-it note in your bathroom, your dresser, mirror, wherever it needs to be, so that you will constantly see it. And it is this that if you are with someone that puts you down, that makes you feel less than, you are not with the right person. That's it. Mic drop. Turn the episode off, the podcast off.
01:21
We're done. That's it. I don't care if it's about your obsession with Legos or you desire intimacy in a particular way, it can be from a frivolous thing, random thing, to a very intimate thing. I don't care where the where it falls on that spectrum. It doesn't matter if you are with someone that makes you feel less than bad about yourself, lower your self self-esteem, make you doubt yourself, gives you less confidence about yourself, your direction, where you're going, what they see in the relationship.
02:20
All of those things you should not feel in a healthy, long-term, sustainable relationship. And if you do, please question, please ponder that connection and that relationship. Ask yourself what you are getting out of it. Because when you're with the right person, all those flaws, let's call them quote unquote flaws that this person or these people in the past have nitpicked around you and your situation, your environment, whatever it is, all these things that have made you feel bad about yourself are actually the same things that the right person will appreciate, love, and cherish about you.
03:20
So let me say it again for those in the back. If you're with someone that doesn't light you the hell up, that doesn't energize you to your core, that doesn't make you smile by just them walking in the room, if your body doesn't relax and let yourself just fall into their arms, if you don't feel that, then please reevaluate the relationship and the connection that you are in. Because I know, I feel, I believe, I know in my soul that that is not how any human being should feel.
04:17
We all deserve a connection where we are seen, heard, understood in love for exactly who we are, and please throw away everything else because nothing else matters than that right there. Thank you for tuning in to this episode. Hopefully that was helpful, useful, insightful. If you have ideas for future episodes, hit me up. You can email me, you can contact me on social, you can leave a message via fan mail. All of that is in the show notes.
