Okay, let's just face it. Some influencers are
just full of crap. What's up, you guys? Famous
Ashley Grant here. Welcome to More Movement,
Please. This is the podcast where I hope to inspire
you to move your body more. Last week, I hit
two pretty significant milestones, to me, anyway.
I hit 400 classes completed, and I hit 200 days
of maximum effort. And the reason this is such
a big deal to me, and I've said this before and
I'm going to say it again, I plan to obnoxiously
celebrate every single milestone in this fitness
journey. And here's why. I feel like every celebration
that you can do is a good thing. Everything that
gets you excited and more pumped about your fitness
journey, it's a good thing. So the more opportunities
I have to celebrate the fitness journey. I will
take every single one of them, every single chance
I get. Because the more excited I get, the more
I want to work, the more I want to do, and the
better I'm feeling about the effort that I'm
putting in. And it's not just about the scale.
It's not just about how I'm looking. Y 'all,
it is how I'm feeling. I am feeling so much better
than I was six months ago. I have more energy.
I'm sleeping a little bit better. Any of the
sleep that I'm struggling with, that's my own
stress. That's my own issues. But... the exercises
have been helping with the whole stress thing.
And it's been helping me in so many ways. Like
I'm down four pant sizes and I'm down 26 pounds
and I have no plans on stopping anytime soon.
As I told you guys, whenever I first started
this podcast, this was not a challenge. Yes,
everything I'm doing is challenging, but I didn't
sign up. to do a challenge. This wasn't a 30
day challenge. This wasn't a, Oh, you know, a
zero to five K challenge or a, you know, I've
seen so many of them of like 30 planks in 30
days or 30 miles in 30 days and all these different
things. Right. But for me, this was not a challenge.
This was about trying to implement a change in
my lifestyle. And that is what I have done. And
that is what I am so excited about. The funny
thing is. The more that I am getting into fitness
and the more that I am trying to make fitness
a huge part of my life, the more crap I am seeing
in my Facebook feed, my Instagram feed, my TikTok
feed, all the things. I get bombarded pretty
frequently with ads to become a gym instructor
or to become a Zumba instructor or sign up for
this nutrition course and you can be a certified
nutritionist as well and all these things, right?
The interesting thing to me though, is seeing
just how many people are fitness influencers
that are full of crap. I mean, so many of them
are just pushing vitamins. They're pushing products.
They're pushing weight loss drugs and so many
different things. And protein powders. My God,
if I see one more protein powder get pimped to
me, I'm going to scream. Because the truth is,
it's not just about protein. It's not just about...
you know supplements don't get me wrong I do
take my fair share of supplements especially
ones that like I need for for some some of my
own health issues but some of the stuff that
is getting peddled it just feels like snake oil
and so the main thing that I want to share today
is if you are starting your fitness journey and
you start posting about it the way that I have
been and you start trying to be like accountable
and and make your your journey public You too
are probably going to get bombarded with ads.
And I just want to just encourage you that if
you do, please do your homework. Don't just buy
a bunch of crap. Don't just believe all these
fitness influencers. Do your homework. Don't
just buy a bunch of crap you don't need. Because
I'm living proof that what you really need is
to put in the work. Yeah, you might need to be
in a calorie deficit and you might need to diet
a little bit and all that jazz. but don't go
crazy with it. Don't do what I did before of
taking a bunch of shots and pills. There's a
better way. Putting in the movement, putting
in the work, doing the work, you will get so
many better results than you would if you just
buy a bunch of crap that fitness influencers
are peddling to you. So I hope this helps someone.
I hope this inspires you to just move your body.
Onwards and upwards, my friends. Have you worked
out today?
