Yes, believe it or not, there have been times
that mid -workout, I just wanted to quit and
go home. What's up, you guys? Famous Sasha Grant
here. Welcome to More Movement, Please, the podcast
where I hope to inspire you to move your body
more. So I received some more questions and I
thought it'd be fun to just answer some more
because whenever you guys ask me questions, it
actually helps me come up with ideas of things
I can talk about. Because let's face it, whenever
I'm sitting here in my car just recording stuff,
Sometimes I don't know what I want to talk about.
And so it's really fun whenever y 'all send me
questions to kind of get those wheels in my head
spinning so I can actually possibly give you
something that might help you. So one of the
questions that I received is, are there moments
that you ever want to just quit? And yes. Oh
my God, yes. There are moments that I just, I
want to quit mid -workout and just go home. Especially
on days where I'm feeling weak or I'm having
a bad mental health day or something like that.
I just... There there are moments like there
are absolutely moments. And I will tell you that
there have been a couple of times where I had
to walk out of the room and just take a breather
and then come back. In fact, there was one day
it was the day that I said I only did half of
a class because I was so emotional that day from
from some personal stuff that was going on in
my life that I literally just walked out of the
class and could not come back. I had to have
someone else put my stuff away and bring bring
my stuff to me. my gym bag to me because I just
I couldn't handle it and that is going to happen
sometimes right I mean we're human We're humans.
What did they say? We're a soul having a human
experience. And I've definitely had days where,
yeah, mid -workout, I just wanted to quit and
walk away. But what keeps me going most of the
time, I'd say 99 % of the time, is knowing how
good I'll feel after I complete the workout.
Even when it hurts, even whenever the pain gets
really real and I feel... feel so weak. Just
if I keep moving, I know that by the end of it,
I'm going to feel better. And the other thing
that propels me to continue going on is the other
people in the room. It's why I've said so many
times that I love the group fitness classes,
because when I'm looking around the room and
I see other people struggling too, knowing that
I'm not alone really helps with like the mental
aspect of feeling like, yeah, I can do this.
I got this. And the other thing that helps is
the music. I sometimes will just, if I'm not
feeling the workout that I'm experiencing, I
will focus completely on the music. And that
will sometimes be the very thing that I need
that will help me to continue on through the
workout. And another question that came in was,
what's the difference between a bad day at the
gym and a bad week? And how do you tell them
apart? So for me, I have to say that. The difference
between a bad day and a bad week. A bad week
is when you're not feeling it the entire week.
And I haven't really had that happen. I can honestly
say that the only time that I feel like I had
a bad week was whenever I couldn't get to the
gym. Those 11 days where I wasn't going to the
gym and I was on my own trying to do the workouts.
Those really sucked. I hated it so much. I could
not stand the fact that I couldn't be with my
gym buddies working out. And so that's really
the only time that I can feel like I had a bad
week. I know that there have been some times
where like I wasn't feeling well or like I had
a cold or. Something to that effect. I mean,
those I guess you could consider those bad weeks,
but I still went to the gym every day and I still
put in the work. And so whenever I was still
just going, it didn't become an entire bad week,
but a bad day. I mean, those can happen anytime.
Maybe you didn't eat something that sat right
with you, or maybe you didn't get good sleep
last night, or maybe you're menstrual, or maybe
you have a headache or something. Those can be
bad days. But for me, it feels like if I just
keep going and keep getting through the workout.
then I can turn a bad day at least into a little
bit of a better day. I'm not going to sit here
and sugarcoat things and tell you that, oh, if
you just work out, you're just going to have
a beautiful, wonderful day. No, sometimes whenever
you get out of the gym, you still have to face
life, right? You still have to face whatever
it was that put you in a bad mood in the first
place, but you will feel better and you'll have
better mental clarity to be able to handle whatever
it was that life threw at you that day. And I
think we have time for one more question. At
the risk of making this episode too terribly
long, I'll just answer one more question that
came in. And that is, what's the moment you realized
fitness had become a part of your identity and
not something that you were just trying? So this
is a tough one for me to answer because sometimes
I still feel like a girl that's playing, you
know, fitness Barbie, only because I'm not as
strong as I want to be yet. And I'm not. quite
where I want to be fitness goals wise. But I
think that my best answer to this was when I
hit the hundred days. Whenever I hit the hundred
days, it felt like at that point, it was truly
a habit. It was truly ingrained in me. And it
was truly the time that I could feel the days
where I didn't go as hard. I could feel the days
where I didn't work out as much as I wanted to.
And it's when I, you know, I started craving
going to the gym. I'd say within a good two weeks,
like when I first got started getting serious,
you know, July 14th, that first week I was, I
was loving it. But by week two, I was craving
it. And then by week three, it was like, I couldn't
get enough. And, but I didn't really feel like
truly feel like I, like fitness was my identity
at this point until about day 100. It was about
that time that, you know, I was three months
in and I was really feeling like. My favorite
place to be was the gym. It was starting to become
that thing where I knew people were either expecting
me to be there because where I was doing all
those accountability posts on Instagram, anytime
that I would not post or if I posted late, I'd
get a DM like, hey, where are you? Did you work
out today? And that really kind of struck a chord
in me and made me want to go that much harder.
And so, yeah, I definitely would say about day
100 is when I really felt like. fitness is my
identity. Fitness is my thing. It is the thing
that I am obsessed with now. And, you know, it's
been more than 200 days at this point. And I
cannot honestly imagine life without working
out at this point. I mean, I know that who I'm
working out with right now, I won't be able to
work out with them forever, only because they've
made it clear that, you know, there's going to
come a point where they're going to have to either
retire or slow down or whatever. But I cannot
imagine a single day where I don't move ever
again. I was sedentary for almost two decades
and I don't ever want to go back. I'm loving
just how good it feels to be moving. And so I
want more of that. And so no matter what happens,
I don't see any time in my life ever again where
I'm not including movement in my week. And so.
Yeah, fitness is part of my identity now. It
is one of the things I do. And I'm so freaking
grateful for it. I'm in love with the fact that
I can move my body. And I get excited seeing
how far I can push myself, seeing how hard I
can go. And, you know, I said earlier in this
episode, yeah, there are days that I want to
quit. There are days that I just don't feel it.
But at the end of the day, it's better to be
moving than not. It's better to be going to the
gym than not. And I love the people that I get
to work out with. I love being around other people,
working out with them. So my hope is that even
if I'm not working out with the exact same people
that I'm working out with right now, that I'm
always working out with other people. It's my
favorite thing to do. Group fitness is my favorite
thing to do. My second favorite thing is traveling
and walking. So, I mean, I do foresee a lot more
of that coming up in my very near future. But
yeah, that's the answers to the three questions
that I received. If you guys want to send me
more questions, you know, hit me up on Facebook.
You can find me at Famous Ashley Grant. Feel
free to DM me any of your questions or or add
a comment to any of my posts and I'll add them
to the queue. I would love to just keep answering
y 'all's questions because. Like I said, when
I'm sitting here and trying to figure out what
I'm going to talk about, sometimes I don't know
exactly what's going to resonate with people
or what people are going to want to hear. So
I love when you guys send me questions. If you
want to leave me a voice note and ask a question,
I'd love to have that too. So if you go to famousashleygrant

If you're a fitness pro or in the fitness industry,
you can drop me a voice note, offer your tips
or questions or whatever you want. And if you're

talk to me or share something, share something
about your journey or ask a question, I would
love, love, love if you would drop me a voice
note because I love hearing from you guys. I
love the questions that you guys submit. And
